As Wikipedia defines it “4K resolution is a generic term for display devices or content having horizontal resolution on the order of 4,000 pixels.” Essentially, a 4K UHD has a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 lines, and is set for 8.3 megapixels and an aspect ratio 16:9.

Just like HDTV’s with 720P were the craze years ago, and moving up to 1080P, these are the wave of the future in how tv’s will be made. The prices are at a premium to be a forerunner in having one in your home, but the resolution is amazing.

You can find some tv’s now for under $1000, and many will cost many times that. It all depends on the size you want and features you want — like HDMI ports, digital audio out and more.
